Working Principle
Basic Opening and Closing Principle
The opening and closing of the pipeline are achieved by rotating the stem to drive the ball to rotate. The stem is connected to the ball. When the stem is operated manually or with the aid of electric, pneumatic and other devices, the ball rotates accordingly. The rotation angle of the ball is generally 90°. When the ball passage is parallel to the pipeline axis, the valve is open and the medium can flow through smoothly. When the ball rotates 90° and its passage is perpendicular to the pipeline axis, the valve is closed, cutting off the flow of the medium.
Sealing Principle
Fixed Ball: The ball of the forged steel fixed ball valve is fixed and will not move under the action of the medium pressure. Different from the floating ball valve, the fixed ball has good stability and can better withstand high pressure.
Floating Seat and Sealing: It is equipped with a floating seat. The medium pressure acts on the seat, causing it to move and press tightly against the ball, thus forming a reliable seal to prevent the medium from leaking. For example, under high - pressure working conditions, the seat will fit more closely to the surface of the ball under the push of the medium pressure to ensure the sealing effect.
Auxiliary Sealing Measures: In order to enhance the sealing performance and reduce the operating torque, some forged steel fixed ball valves adopt an oil - sealing method. That is, special lubricating oil is injected between the sealing surfaces to form an oil film, which not only enhances the sealing performance but also reduces the friction force during operation.
