Introduction

Working Principle:

When the fluid flows in the forward direction (from the pump), the pressure of the fluid overcomes the resistance of the valve, causing the disc to rotate and open the valve, allowing the fluid to pass through with relatively low resistance. When the pump stops or the flow needs to be stopped, the dashpot mechanism comes into play. Instead of closing the valve abruptly, it controls the disc to close slowly. This is achieved by using the pressure change of the medium itself as the driving force. The closing angle and time can often be adjusted to suit different operating conditions.

Applications

Water Supply Systems: In industrial water supply, municipal water treatment plants, and building water supply systems where pumps are used. They protect the pump and pipeline system from the backflow of water, which could damage the pump and cause pressure surges.
